SayPro 459:Chief Operations Royalty Feedback of the Gauteng Department of Social Development panels To, thE CEO, Mr Malatjie, His committee and all SayPro Royal Chiefs
SayPro 459:Chief Operations Royalty Feedback of the Gauteng Department of Social Development panels
To, thE CEO, Mr Malatjie, His committee and all SayPro Royal ChiefsGo lena ka moka, kere kgotso a ebe le lena.
I recently attended a panel discussion hosted by the Gauteng Department of Social Development and this is my feedback:
The panel was very engaging where e have the opportunity to hear what the department thought about our business plan. The feedback was that we need to narrow our courses and embed them.
2. Interactive Format:
The advise from the department was as follows.
– consider what other organisations are doing.
– do not remove bookkeeping
– don’t over plan and include a lot of programs
– as much as you use technology please ensure that you have hard copies
– your programs are great but also consider what your competitors are doing:
– ensure that there’s a market for your beneficiaries.
– do not add too money program rather combine them.
– please check with the department that your board is updated and you get a letter of compliance
What I Have Learned:
One key takeaway was the importance of taking a holistic approach to social development. The panel highlighted how various aspects of social welfare are interconnected. Addressing one area without considering others can lead to limited impact. I learned that sustainable development requires coordination across different sectors and a comprehensive understanding of the needs of diverse communities.
To-do-list
1. Letter of compliance
2. Share the updated presentation
3. Have board members
My overall experience is that not so many people understand what DYP does and the panels provided us with an opportunity to gain a better understanding of how people view us and their experiences of DYP.
DYP still have a long way in teaching and information partners on a new way of working.
Technology still proves to be a challenge for most clients and that’s where DYP has an opportunity to thrive and grow.
